Heart disease and stroke are among the nation’s leading causes of death and major causes of disability, costing our nation hundreds of billions of dollars annually. In the next two decades, these conditions will are expected to increase sharply as the country’s ‘baby boom’ generation ages. Fortunately, these conditions are largely preventable. To reverse this epidemic of heart disease and stroke through increasingly effective prevention, action is needed now.
The National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention was created to provide leadership in improving the cardiovascular health of our nation.
