Overview
MISSION: To identify effective policies in cardiovascular health (CVH) promotion and cardiovascular disease prevention at the national, state, and local levels to ensure effective public health action against heart disease and stroke.
Year End Report April 2010
1. Reviewing policy issue brief on funding for state heart disease and stroke prevention programs.
2. Reviewing literature for drafts of policy statement on issue of elimination of disparities.
3. Reviewing literature for drafts of policy statement on issue of social determinants of health.
4. Develop a policy statement on sodium using the National Forum response to the FDA as a guide.
5. Assisting with planning of program for 8th National Forum.
6. Working with CIG to broaden dissemination of current policy statements.
7. Working with MEIG to develop a method to evaluate the effectiveness/impact of National Forum Policy Statements.
